How To Spend It July 2014

"Monreal London serves up luxe new tennis attire Stefani Grosse understands a thing or two about tennis gear. She has played ever since she was old enough to hold a racquet, and she knows about clothes, having worked for Donna Karen and Calvin Klein and dressed stars for the Oscars and Golden Globes. On finding that most kit wasn't to her liking, she launched her own line. The result is Monreal London, a rang of luxurious tennis attire that is as fun as it is functional. It was designed with Grosse's own dream holiday in mind and includes pieces as easy to slip on over the bikini for a sunset cocktail as to wear on court. Last year's inagural collection, which was picked up by Harrods, The Queen's Club and Colette in Paris, included a polo dress (£245) and tank dress (£220), which, together with the silver metallic undershorts (£85), are what the label has become known for. This season Grosse has added tops (from £99) and skirts (Fkirt skirt, £120, pictured; pleated version, £155), jackets (£260) trousers (from £220) and a playsuit (£295). The high-tech performance fabrics from Italy have plenty of stretch and a UV 50+ filter, while all the dresses and tops have inbuilt sports bras with removable cups. The collection is mostly in white with splashes of colour interwoven into the design."
